Is business insurance required in Utah?

Some of it, yes. Nearly every Utah employer must carry workers’ compensation insurance. Licensed contractors must carry general liability insurance to hold a DOPL license, and retail liquor licensees must carry dramshop coverage. Business vehicles must meet Utah’s 30/65/25 auto liability minimums. Beyond the legal requirements, most coverage obligations come from landlords, lenders, and client contracts.
