Is general liability insurance required in Colorado?

Colorado does not have one universal rule that requires every business to carry general liability insurance. Many businesses still need it because of leases, client contracts, vendor agreements, permits, or city licensing requirements. The Colorado Secretary of State also tells new businesses to obtain proper insurance and review local, state, and industry rules1.
